Role of Energy to the Development of Human Society

a.   Environment

è The role of energy in environment is it makes our food and other needs through the process of photosynthesis. Plants need heat energy for them to produce food.  Heat energy is also needed in water cycle.  Heat makes water evaporate into water vapor and suddenly condenses to become rain. The rain falls on the land that is needed by the plants to grow well. There is also a wind energy that blows in our environment. This wind is being converted to become electricity through the use of windmills.

b.  Home

è In home, we need an LPG gas which is a chemical energy and becomes a heat energy that is use for heating and cooking purposes. We also use electrical energy so that our appliances can be used to do our work easily like washing machine. Electrical energy makes its motor spin whereby, electricity transforms into a mechanical energy. Electricity becomes useful also by its conversion to light energy  like in our light bulbs. It can also be converted to heat energy like in our refrigerator. Its freon inside the machine needs to be heated by electricity. These appliances in our houses are needed by the human for living well that work through the transformation of different forms of energy.

c.   Transportation

è Automobiles, airplanes and ships use gasoline to move. We need these so that we can comfortably and easily go to our wanted destinations no matter how far it is. But for us to use these, we need lots of supply of gasoline which is a chemical energy that is converted to a mechanical so the automobiles can move as far as it can. While in our modern life, there is an LRT or an MRT that useslots of electric energy to move.

d.   Economy

è Industries need all kinds of energies to make some products, to operate their machines and many more. The major energy that they use is electrical energy because they usually use machines to make products like medicines, metals, beverages and many more that needs electricity to function. Some uses nuclear energy to convert it into electricity like the nuclear power plant. It is also use for making nuclear bombs and lot of new inventions that can be used by the people. X-ray is produce from nuclear reaction that is now use in examining body parts usually lungs and bones that has fractures so it can penetrate the body.

e.   ICT

è Computers need electrical energy to work. It is use for communication, for gathering information and for leisure times also. It uses also sound energy and light energy when we are listeningmusic and watching some videos. 

Physics and Technologies

Electric Fan

              Its principle is more in Electro-Magnetism that talks between electricity and magnet. There is a solenoid inside on it. The wire inside  was coiled in the cylindrical metal and it forms a magnetic field at the center of it that move the armature which is connected to the blade of the electric fan that make it rotates. The greater the number of coil of wires the faster it rotates. It involved Lenz law that states an induced emf always gives rise to a current whose magnetic field opposes the original change in flux.


Television

           Its principle is more about Optics because of the picture tube inside  that uses light. In a television picture tube, the light is produce by exciting a phosphor and then re-emits it as visible light. A picture is produced by the incoming signal from the antenna that goes to the controls of an electron gun which fires a jet of electrons. The jet of electrons is fired in lines across screen. The more intense the jet of electrons, the brighter the picture.


Flat Iron

          Its more about Thermodynamics where transformation of energy occurs. The electricity is converted to heat energy that makes the iron hot. The transfer of heat to the clothes is called conduction because it  is a mode of transfer of energy within and between bodies of matter.
